An orthopedic implant is a manufactured device designed to replace a joint, bone, or cartilage due to damage or deformity – such as from breaking a leg, losing a limb, or a congenital defect. Common medical devices used for orthopaedic applications include, but are not limited to: Joint replacement implants, such as total hip arthoplasty and finger joint replacement. Spine stabilization implants, such as spinal rods, screws,and fixation plates etc.

ORTHOPEDIC SCREW
A bone screw is a metal implant inserted into the bone. Screws are used to immobilize fractured bone segments to aid in the healing process, and as an adjunct to spine fusion surgery to help hold implants in place.
ORTHOPAEDIC PLATES
An orthopaedic plate is a form of internal fixa on used in orthopaedic surgery to hold fractures in place to allow bone healing. Most modern plates include bone screws to help the orthopaedic plate stay in place.
ORTHOPAEDIC PROSTHESES
Orthopaedic prostheses and fix on devices (including intramedullary nails) are mostly made of titanium, cobalt chrome, or stainless-steel alloys, while ultra-high- molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) or ceramics are used for the ar cula ng surface in order to minimise wear and fric on.
